It doesn't get any better than this. Lakers vs. Spurs - Pistons vs. Celtics. I would have liked to have seen the Hornets and the Cavs advance, but these match ups will make the Conference Finals true battles. Look for both series to go 7 games. The winner of the West (Lakers) will, once again, win it all. But I think we can count on a terrific NBA Finals series. That one could go 7 as well. These teams are balling it like the hardcore sacred rock seshers that they are. My thoughts:
Kobe is straight up nasty. He is reaching Jordan status with his ability to feel out games and get his teammates involved.
Tim Duncan and Manu Ginobli are so, so freaking good. It annoys the piss out of me.
Paul Pierce is the resident 'hot' player. He is playing great ball.
The Pistons need their bench to step up more than ever against the Celtics
Phil Jackson and Greg Popovich are wizards. This series is a chess match. Evenly matched teams. You got your x's and o's. belie dat.
Chauncey needs to shoot more often.
The teams that are still in it listen to their coach. In fact, all 8 of the teams in it last round do.
The Nuggets are so far away from competing at this level.
